At a football match there is no second take. Position matters, but so does reading what might happen next: a run into space, a challenge, a reaction after a goal. I would rather have a frame with a clear moment and imperfect geometry than a technically clean image where nothing is happening.
slow moments
A ceremony gives more time, but that does not automatically make it easier. The useful photographs are often transitions: somebody waiting to walk on stage, a quick look toward a friend, the moment after an award rather than the handover itself. Documentary work is mostly about staying ready for those small changes.
